Veterinary Nurse

Rebecca Walton
Rebecca Walton RVN Head Nurse (Garforth)

Hey I’m Becky! I started at Westwood as a student with just my practical exams to go. I graduated from Askham Bryan College in 2014 with a Foundation Degree in Vet Nursing and have worked here ever since (with a cheeky gap year in between to travel to Australia).

You will find me at the Garforth branch, usually on the floor cooing over every animal that comes in. I enjoy the one-to-one time spent in nurse consults and am more than happy to provide lots of cuddles for each of them. I also really enjoy the surgical side of my role and assisting in operations. I hope to gain a surgical certificate in the near future.

I have a moggy called Spud, a hand rear that ended up becoming part of the family. She’s a diva! I also have 4 rabbits; Cheeky, Rapunzel, Domino and Snowball.

Out of work, I have recently started back at the gym. I enjoy days out walking and visiting new places, a decent pub dinner and you can’t go wrong with a night in watching TV.

Being a Vet Nurse is such an amazing, rewarding role and although it can be difficult, I wouldn’t change it for the world.
